FULL TOUR DESCRIPTION:
We meet by the Hungarian State Opera where we give you a small summary about what we are going to see in Budapest on the walking tour, handing out the public transportation tickets and then the fun begins.
First we visit the City Park, where we get immersed in the Hungarian history at the Heroes’ Square with its so many statues of our heroes from the thousand-years-old history. From here we visit the Vajdahunyad Castle, which is a mishmash of numerous architectural styles and hosting the Agricultural Museum, just right next to the ice skating rink. We will also have the chance to peek in to the largest thermal bath of Central Europe, the Széchenyi bath.
From here taking the millennium metro we head out to the St. Stephen’s Basilica, the biggest catholic church of Budapest, which has a really important relic inside, the mummified right fist of our first king Saint Stephen.
After having seen the St. Stephen’s Basilica we go up to the castle area, to have a decent coffee break with the possibility to try some Hungarian pastries, at the edge of the Fisherman’s Bastion. Later we will have a look at the beautiful Matthias Church and the castle village and finishing our tour next to the Buda Castle, where you can enjoy the wonder view over the whole city.
